M2 Global is pleased to announce that its president and chairman of the board, Douglas Carlberg, has been appointed to the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME) Board of Directors.  Mr. Carlberg also serves as the Soutwest Regional President for AME and is leading a team in the development of benchmarking opportunities and training classes.   Previously, Mr. Carlberg served as Vice President of Operations for Harris Corporation Microwave Communications Division.  Under his leadership, the division's San Antonio operation received numerous awards, including the Shingo Prize for Excellence in Manufacturing, the Organization for Quality and Participation's Organizational Excellence Award, and IndustryWeek's Top 25 Best Plants in North America.

The AME was established in 1985 to promote awareness and education of lean manufacturing concepts, which are a requirement for a world-class enterprise.  Today, AME is regarded as one of the premier not-for-profit educational organizations.  IndustryWeek magazine has lauded the AME as "the premier knowledge transfer organization for manufacturing."

AME is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, with international divisions in Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom.
