M2
Global, Inc. is pleased to announce that its Chairman
of the Board, Douglas Carlberg, has been reappointed
to the Shingo
Prize Board of Governors.
The Shingo Prize was established in 1988 to promote
awareness of lean manufacturing concepts and recognize
companies that achieve world-class manufacturing status,
customer satisfaction, and business results. Today,
the Shingo Prize is regarded as one of the premier
manufacturing award and recognition programs. Business
Week considers it “the Nobel Prize of
manufacturing”. The Prize is presented
to manufacturing sites that have achieved dramatic
performance improvements. Prize-winning
companies produce phenomenal statistics such as reducing
setup times by one million minutes per year, increasing
productivity by over 300%, and reducing lead times
from months to hours, yet they continue to strive
to improve their core manufacturing practices. The
Shingo Prize highlights the value of using lean manufacturing
practices to attain world-class status.
The Shingo Prize is administered by the College
of Business of Utah State University and is awarded
annually. The Prize is open to manufacturers
in the United States, Canada, and Mexico and to researchers
worldwide.
